Independence Day




 When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

 
 We spent the Fourth of July at Rod's aunt and uncle's house on "the island". Going to the island always means a ferry trip, beautiful views and great food. On the fourth it also means lots of fireworks.



 Owen required some careful watching this year as he was extremely fascinated with the fireworks. Owen isn't afraid of anything that doesn't involve a stethoscope.
 Brenna wasn't quite sure what to think of the loud noise, but she enjoyed the lights.
 The big kids had a blast (yes, literally), although Devon went home early after having gotten up at 5:20am for work.
